Choose a reference with a clear subject
Pet portraits, flowers, objects and your own drawings are useful starting points. A crowded photo gives the model more competing details to interpret. Choose a closer photograph and describe the main subject rather than asking it to reproduce every background element.
Fine line and minimal treatments simplify a reference. Blackwork emphasizes dark shapes, while watercolor can introduce softer color. These are creative interpretations, not exact photographic copies. For direct black-and-white conversion, try the stencil maker.
Review the result before planning a tattoo
Compare the subject’s outline, markings and proportions with your original. AI can change small features or add unexpected details. Do not rely on generated lettering for names or dates; the font generator gives you direct control over spelling.
A generated design is a visual reference. Your artist still needs to assess linework, dimensions and placement, and prepare the final artwork. The Classic simulator lets you explore the composition without promising an exact healed result.

How is this different from the tattoo simulator?
Image to tattoo creates new artwork from a reference image using AI. The Classic simulator places an existing design onto a body photo. After generating a design here, choose Try This Tattoo to continue into the simulator.
Can I turn a pet photo into a tattoo?
Yes. Use a clear photo with one main subject and describe the features you want to keep. AI may change details, so compare markings, proportions and distinctive features against the original.
How much does a generation cost?
Sign-in is required. Each request creates one standard-resolution design and uses the shared daily free allowance first. When that allowance is exhausted, a request costs 1 credit. Failed or blocked jobs release their reserved credits or free allowance.
Are my images public?
No. The selected reference is saved locally so it can survive sign-in. When you generate, it is uploaded to private storage and sent to APIMart for generation and input screening. Generated images are screened by SeeAPI before becoming available. Uploaded references and generated results expire after 30 days; download anything you want to keep.
